A true Vermont Islands classic, Ipe, or Brazilian Walnut, is rated as extremely durable and holds up to the harshest environments. Vermont Islands uses both 3” and 5” widths, we Tongue and Groove the boards to allow for expansion and contraction throughout the year with the changing weather so your island always looks great. Often used as a commercial decking for coastal boardwalks, it lasts decades while supporting the wear and tear of million of annual feet.

Ipe can be run vertically or horizontally, our standard finish is Ducksback Marine Oil to keep the wood dark red-brown and lush for years or it can be unfinished and weather to a regal silver gray. While ipe is nearly impossible to stain, its durably and timelessness are always a customer favorite.
